Galaxy drive in7/3/2023 There was a gorgeous Mustang behind us too. Two classic cars in the row in front of us were straight out of to 1950s – a Fairlane and a Thunderbird. Galaxy Drive-in Theatre 5301 North Interstate Highway 45 Ennis, TX 75119 The Galaxy Drive-in is a large, seven screen drive-in theater located in Ennis, Texas which is located about 30 miles south of Dallas, Texas. A night at the drive-ins is a good idea for the summer holidays. In May 2011 a fifth screen was added, and in 2012, a sixth screen was added. Initially opened as a triple screen theatre, a fourth screen was added in 2007. There were lots of people there (on a Thursday). The Galaxy Drive-In located on I-45 just north of Ennis, Texas at exit 255, opened December 17, 2004. I was really surprised with how popular the drive-in still was. Luckily, Little Chef has fallen asleep in the car, so there were no tears of disappointment! We were in quite a queue of 30+ cars, that didn’t get in, so it really pays to be there when the gates open. We actually attempted this trip the week before, but the cinema was full before we reached the entrance, so we missed out. Located in Ennis, Galaxy is also a new-age drive-in with seven screens playing 7 nights a week, 365 days a year Single showing tickets are 8 for adults and 5 for kids. The easiest thing is to use your car radio but bring a portable radio if your car is prone to getting flat batteries! I’d also suggest to get there early on a weekend. Our concession stand is open with a full menu of tasty. I really enjoyed this as we don’t get down to the Kings Park/Burswood outdoor cinemas as much as we’d like.Īt Galaxy there is a small café onsite which sells popcorn, lollies, drinks, chips, pizza etc. Please, no outside food or beverages allowed at Aut-O-Rama Drive-In. We were seeing Disney’s Frozen – which we all really enjoyed (the little snowman was so funny!). We were all very excited, it was a bit of a change from the regular cinema. It was very cosy! Some people take chairs and sit next to their car too. The outdoor movie venue is now open seven. We reversed up the hump and the three of us sat in the boot of our 4WD with bean bags and blankets. A little more than half an hour from downtown Dallas, you’ll find plenty of old school charm at Ennis’ Galaxy Drive-In Movie Theatre. in 2012 after closure of the former Wagner’s Drive-In. Steve Schussler, who created the Rainforest Café concept, had opened the spot at 3712 Quebec Ave. You pay at the window (cash only), then find a spot in front of the giant screen – driving up the hump (so your car is tilting up to the screen). The restaurant, which featured Galaxy Burgers, Space Dogs, sandwiches, chicken and ribs, malts and other classic drive-in fare, closed in 2015. It looked as though nothing much would have changed there in 50 years. It is only 10 mins from our house and I didn’t even know it was there! It was a totally retro experience. To be honest, I didn’t realize there was still a drive-in movie theater in Perth! Galaxy in Kingsley is the only remaining drive-in in the metro area. I have very vague memories of going about 25 years ago, when I was a child.
